What to do in Ullapool

Ullapool is a thriving fishing village which sits at the end of Loch Broom about one hours drive from Inverness. It is also the main ferry port to the Island of Lewis. Ullapool has many facilities including a leisure centre, full sized swimming pool, golf course and a fantastic museum. The area is famous for mountain climbing, hill walking, and for its undiscovered beaches and wildlife. There are boat trips to the Summer Isles where you can see porpoises and seals and not to be missed is the spectacular Corrieshalloch Gorge which is just off the main road ten miles south from Ullapool, it is guaranteed to take your breath away!
Ullapool is famous for its music scene, it has many musicians regularly playing in the variety of bars, restaurants and hotels throughout the village.It hosts a number of annual festivals including The Loopalu Festival in September and The Guitar Festival in October which bring thousands from all over the country.
